I’ve had quite a few emails about kids wardrobes recently and what vintage paint colours are available.
My absolute favourite brand is Fusion Mineral Paint. I’m not a huge lover of painting (the prep bores me!) but this one is a dream, for a few reasons…
- I sand the wood but that’s it, no undercoat and it just glides on.
- There are no lumpy bumpy bits, it makes a pro of your paintwork!
- There’s a built-in topcoat – yup!
- Being no VOC it doesn’t smell so you can even paint indoors.
Here are some beautiful kids rooms which I’ve Pinned over the years, as well as a few creations of my own. You can get the look with the seven designer Tones For Tots colours…
Vintage Light Green
For this subtle green tone try Little Speckled Frog.
Vintage Yellow
Get the look with Tones For Tots, Little Star.
Vintage Grey
For this gorgeous grey, use Little Lamb (which is the actual paint colour I used for the kids desk)
Vintage Pink
I can’t wait to try this vintage pastel pink! Little Piggy will give the perfect hue.
Vintage Light Blue
Get the look with Tones For Tots, Little Whale which I’ve used for a couple of kids vintage wardrobes.
Vintage Lilac
Little Stork is the very subtle lilac-grey which I used for both the cane bassinets and vintage table here.
Vintage Turquoise
Little Teapot has to be the most popular colour that I’ve used! Seen on the wardrobe pictured below with the doors closed it is the perfect shade of turquoise / spearmint.
A bit of a vintage vibe really adds interest to a kids room so I encourage you to give one of these paint colours a go – even if it’s on something small (I’ve painted chest of drawer handles different colours and my next project is going to be painting half blocks of wood for little side tables)
